With changing demographics orthopedic injuries, muscular, cardiovascular and other chronic conditions are affecting a growing segment of the population. Many are being released from therapy into mainstream fitness and looking to begin or continue their exercise program in the water. As professionals working with these individuals it is important to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to develop safe and effective exercise programs. In 2004, AEA Training Specialists Monique Acton, Laurie Denomme and Judi Powers created Aquatic Options Educational Programs and Resources to fill this need in aquatic fitness education. In 2006, Terri Mitchell and Tara Palmer joined the Education team to deliver the Aquatic Options in-depth training program across the country.
